Softball Recap: Chico Falls Short of Las Plumas in the Playoffs

Chico and Las Plumas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Chico had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Chico saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKena Harvey, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Kai Peterson was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Chico and nudges their season record down to 17-13. As for Las Plumas, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.

As of now, neither Chico nor the Thunderbirds have any future games scheduled.
