Baseball Recap: Patrick Henry Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Patrick Henry won against Vista Grande last Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Patriots came out on top against the Bonita Vista Barons by a score of 6-1. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Barons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Cody Cappelletti made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Preston Conklin was excellent, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Mestman, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Patrick Henry pushed their record up to 8-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bonita Vista, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will take on San Pasqual in a tournament on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 2.9, the Golden Eagles 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bonita Vista, they will be taking part in a tournament against Mira Mesa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Barons are facing the Marauders at the right time seeing as the Marauders are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
