Football Recap: Khamel Williams Leads Digital Pioneers Academy's Defense on Saturday

It's playoff time, and Digital Pioneers Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 26-21 W over the KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Pythons in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Digital Pioneers Academy found their leader in freshman Laroy Williams, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Deandre Johnson also helped with two scores in total.

Digital Pioneers Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Digital Pioneers Academy's defense and their six sacks. Khamel Williams was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself.

Digital Pioneers Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Coming up, Digital Pioneers Academy will take on St. Albans on Saturday. The Pythons will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. KIPP DC Legacy College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
