Baseball Recap: Neshoba Central Find Success

Neshoba Central's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Kemper County Wildcats get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Rockets have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

CAMERON WEBB made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. WEBB was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That run was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, MADDOX MARS looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Neshoba Central is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise.

Back at the plate, SAM KILLENS was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Neshoba Central is undefeated when KILLENS posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was LOGAN COLLINS, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Neshoba Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory got Neshoba Central back to even at 4-4. As for Kemper County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neshoba Central will venture away from home to face off against Starkville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kemper County, they will square off against Newton at 7:00 p.m. on March 5.
