Volleyball Recap: Higley Knights vs. Highland Hawks
Higley lost against Highland on October 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Higley Knights lost 3-0 to the Highland Hawks. The Knights have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.
Lucy Schmidt paced Higley's offense, picking up ten kills. Schmidt got some help from
Grace Schenk and her ten assists.
Taryn Thelin controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Highland can attribute much of their success to Alyx Daugherty, who had six digs and two aces.
Higley's loss dropped their record down to 12-16-1. As for Highland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 28-9 record this season.
Higley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Gilbert on the 28th. Highland has also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Desert Ridge on the 28th.
