Boomer Hester Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Charlestown had to settle for second even though Boomer Hester put up the best numbers he has all season. Hester rushed for 288 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards.

Charlestown is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. Hester and Charlestown will challenge Salem on Friday.

Landon Shuck's Big Game Leads Scottsburg over Mitchell

Scottsburg picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Landon Shuck. Mitchell had no answer to Shuck as he rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Shuck showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards.

Unfortunately for Mitchell, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Shuck. Shuck rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also caught a touchdown the last time he and the Bluejackets duked it out back in September of 2023.

Carson Lawyer and Co. Win Third in a Row

Carson Lawyer's big game helped extend Corydon Central's winning streak to three on Friday. Charlestown had no answer to Lawyer as he rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Lawyer really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.

For the year, Lawyer has averaged 26.4 receiving yards per game.

Waylon Doblado Makes It Two for Corydon Central

Keeping Lawyer company is Waylon Doblado, a fellow Corydon Central player. He made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass. He's now once again averaging 100+ receiving yards (110.9) per game. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards.

For the season, Doblado has averaged 5.3 total tackles per game.

Adam Mull Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Salem got the W thanks in part to Adam Mull playing the best football he has all season. Mull rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023.

Salem moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. Mull and Salem will welcome Charlestown on Friday.
