Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Halls, Trinity Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Madison Mustangs. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Haley Lewis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Lewis wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Hidrogo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another was Abby Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Trinity Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Madison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Trinity Christian Academy will face off against Fayette Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Christian Academy will need to watch out since Fayette Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Madison, they will challenge Adamsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Adamsville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Madison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
