Softball Recap: Berwick Comes Up Short

After soaring to 21 runs the game before, Berwick was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lake-Lehman Knights by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost nine in a row.

Berwick saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Welsh, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Berwick now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Lake-Lehman, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick will venture away from home to challenge Wyoming Area at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lake-Lehman, they will head out to take on St. Marys at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 1.8, the Flying Dutch 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
