Sam Murphy and Fisher Page did some serious damage despite the final result: Murphy scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Page scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Murphy has become a key player for Coastal Mississippi Homeschool: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Clay Martin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ben's Ford Christian kicked off their season on the road on March 6th and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coastal Mississippi Homeschool. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Ben's Ford Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool beat Ben's Ford Christian 6-3 when the teams last played on March 6th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coastal Mississippi Homeschool since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
