Softball Recap: Hebbronville Longhorns vs. San Diego Vaqueros
Hebbronville and San Diego squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hebbronville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Vaqueros by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by just one run.
Kailey Pena and Avalee Rodriguez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pena went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was Rodriguez's first of the season. Nina Perez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Hebbronville's loss dropped their record down to 21-11. As for San Diego, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-10.
