Roseville is 1-9 against Woodcreek since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Roseville Tigers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Woodcreek will be up against a hot Roseville squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Roseville came out on top against Twelve Bridges by a score of 56-46 on Thursday.
Roseville relied on the efforts of Ren Marsh, who went 8 of 18 en route to 20 points and six rebounds, and Oreste Yong, who went 9 for 11 on his way to 20 points and six boards. Marsh continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Santiago Barbonier, who posted three points.
Roseville was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Woodcreek didn't have too much trouble with Bella Vista on Tuesday as they won 59-44. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Broncos are ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Roseville better keep an eye on Michael Kirby, Jr.. He was instrumental in Woodcreek's win, putting up 18 points. That's the most points Kirby, Jr. has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Bualat, who had 12 points.
Woodcreek pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Roseville, they are also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Roseville hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 67 points per game. However, it's not like Woodcreek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 58.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Roseville was dealt a bruising 83-45 defeat at the hands of Woodcreek when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Roseville have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
