Softball Recap: Downey Takes a Loss

Downey came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Riverside Prep Silver Knights by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since March 14th.

Kailey ?KK? Murillo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Downey has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. As for Riverside Prep, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Looking ahead, Downey will host Warren at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside Prep, they will venture away from home to square off against Grand Terrace at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
