Basketball Recap: Kyle Kyser Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Crawfordsville

Twin Lakes won against Lafayette Central Catholic last Thursday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Twin Lakes Indians came out on top against the Crawfordsville Athenians by a score of 54-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Twin Lakes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Kyser, who went 5-for-9 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Those 17 points gave Kyser a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keaton Miller, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Crawfordsville lost, don't look at Alec Saidian. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-14 to rack up 20 points. Johnovan Smith was another key player, putting up two points along with six assists, four steals, and three blocks.

Twin Lakes has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Crawfordsville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Twin Lakes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 78-46 loss against Harrison on the 18th. As for Crawfordsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-40 defeat against Lafayette Central Catholic on the 18th.
