Softball Preview: Littleton Tigers vs. Lunenburg Blue Knights

The Littleton Tigers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Lunenburg Blue Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Littleton came up short against Westford Academy and fell 11-7. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Violette MacNeil and Jillian Palmer did some serious damage despite the final result: MacNeil went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Palmer went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn St. Gelais, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Lunenburg sidestepped Oakmont Regional for a 5-4 win.

Maegan Martell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chloe Koziol, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Littleton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lunenburg, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
