Ashbrook extended their winning streak to nine on Friday, bumping them up to 9-0. They came out on top against the Crest Chargers by a score of 21-14. This was payback for the Greenwave, who suffered a 29-12 loss the last time these two teams met.

Aj McClain had an outrageously good game as he threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 31 yards. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

As for Crest, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. Their loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Crest lost, don't look at Ely Hamrick. Despite the final result, he rushed for 80 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 150 yards on 17 of 28 attempts. The Chargers also got a significant boost from Malachi Gamble, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
