Softball Recap: Southern Door Comes Up Short

Southern Door has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.07 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They fell 15-10 to the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters.

Alanah Kaye put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Samantha Melville made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Audrey Plzack was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Southern Door's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.
