Artesia has gone a perfect 10-0 against Portales recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Artesia fell victim to Carlsbad and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Cavemen/Cavegirls by a score of 2-0. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cavemen/Cavegirls recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Portales came up short against West Las Vegas on Tuesday and fell 5-1. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Portales saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Luscombe, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was Luscombe's first of the season.

Artesia's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Portales, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Artesia skirted past Portales 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
