Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Comets vs. Eastbrook Panthers

The Eastern Comets will challenge the Eastbrook Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Eastern is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Wabash get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Eastern's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cody Tarrh, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eastbrook challenged Alexandria-Monroe on Monday. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 2-1. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Tigers on their field since April 27, 2021.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 21-11. As for Eastbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 25-4.

Everything went Eastern's way against Eastbrook when the teams last played back in May of 2022, as Eastern made off with a 13-4 win. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
