Football Recap: Kelsey Peterson Key Part of Team Effort in Titans Win

It may have taken triple overtime to finish the job, but The Classical Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mountain View Mountain Lions by a score of 39-32. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 26-0 win the Mountain Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

The Classical Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kelsey Peterson out in front who threw for 248 yards and five TDs. That's the most passing touchdowns Peterson has posted since back in October of 2024. Reagan Harter was Peterson's top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The Classical Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jerrica Thompson was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by herself.

The Classical Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 32.5 points this season. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

The Classical Academy has already played their next matchup, a 27-12 victory against Pomona on the 8th. As for Mountain View, they will square off against Poudre School District at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
