Baseball Game Preview: Village Christian Crusaders vs. Flintridge Prep Wolves

The Village Christian Crusaders will square off against the Flintridge Prep Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last seven games Village Christian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Village Christian didn't have quite enough to beat La Canada and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by just one run.

Esai Diaz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Flintridge Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monrovia.

Gavin Fong was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases.

Village Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.57 runs. As for Flintridge Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

Village Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Flintridge Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 5-0. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
