Basketball Recap: Greeley West Takes a Loss

Greeley West lost against Fort Collins back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Greeley West Spartans lost 70-44 to the Fort Collins Lambkins. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured nine defeats in a row.

Fort Collins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Henry Peterson out in front who went 7 for 11 en route to 19 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Peterson a new career-high in points. Spiro Palmer also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Greeley West's record now sits at 1-13. As for Fort Collins, they moved to 4-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greeley West won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wheat Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Collins, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Vista PEAK Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Vista PEAK Prep has lost three straight at home , while Fort Collins has lost seven on the road (dating back to last season).
