Recap: M.L. King Lions vs. Chamblee Bulldogs
Even though the Chamblee Bulldogs scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the M.L. King Lions still came out on top. M.L. King escaped with a win against Chamblee by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. Given M.L. King's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Chamblee is ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Devin Bowers was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Kennedy Ruzvidzo jr. was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, Chamblee still got an impressive performance from Ramon McDaniel, Jr., who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 1 assist. McDaniel, Jr. hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Eli Starr, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
M.L. King is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Chamblee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
M.L. King will be playing at home against Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. M.L. King has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 461 points over their last seven matchups. As for Chamblee, they will head out on the road to face off against Tucker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tucker will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Chamblee surely won't give up without a fight.
