Soccer Game Preview: Bush vs. South Whidbey

The Bush Blazers will venture away from home to take on the South Whidbey Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bush has five straight wins, South Whidbey has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Bush had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Northwest on Tuesday. The Blazers' defense stepped up to hand the House a 5-0 shutout. Considering Bush have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when South Whidbey challenged Klahowya on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0.

South Whidbey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Bush, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Bush took their win against South Whidbey when the teams last played back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 6-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blazers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
