Monroe had won eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 3-1 to make it nine. They took their game with ease, bagging an 80-37 victory over the Terrell County Eagles. That looming 80-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Golden Tornadoes yet this season.

Brayden Burns was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-13 to rack up 22 points along with five boards and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Elijah Rivers was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 13 points.

Monroe was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

As for Terrell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Monroe: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Terrell County still got an impressive performance from Dominique Polite, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of D'Chavious Grier, who put up eight points.
