Basketball Game Preview: Winn Mavericks vs. Jay Mustangs

The Winn Mavericks will head out on the road to challenge the Jay Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Winn has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Jay will arrive with five straight wins.

Last Friday, Winn might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Southwest an easy 56-33 victory.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jay beat Harlandale 57-51 last Friday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Indians are ranked 718th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jay's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Winn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.
