Volleyball Recap: Volcano Vista Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Volcano Vista can now relate to. They came up short against the Albuquerque Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Amelia Martinez paced Volcano Vista's offense, picking up nine kills. Martinez got some help from Ava Wrolstad and her 22 assists. Wrolstad was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Volcano Vista's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Albuquerque, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-3.

Volcano Vista has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Santa Fe on the 14th. As for Albuquerque, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Las Cruces on the 14th.
