Soccer Game Preview: Lucy Beckham vs. Berkeley

For the first time this season, Lucy Beckham will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to face off against the Berkeley Stags at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Lucy Beckham is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Oceanside Collegiate Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Landsharks.

Ann Hampton McLester and Lila Ketchin scored both of Lucy Beckham's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, Berkeley fell victim to Fort Dorchester and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Patriots. The Stags haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Berkeley's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Lucy Beckham, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.

Everything went Lucy Beckham's way against Berkeley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, as Lucy Beckham made off with an 11-0 win. Will Lucy Beckham repeat their success, or does Berkeley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
