Basketball Recap: Garden City Comes Up Short

Garden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Allen Park Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while the Jaguars are ranked 148th).

Garden City's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Allen Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

We've got a battle between Cougars coming up. As for Allen Park, they will challenge Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Allen Park knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Trenton likes a good challenge.
