Softball Recap: Tascosa Takes a Loss

Tascosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-3 to the Amarillo Sandies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Vanessa Langeland was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 13 matchups.

Tascosa now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Amarillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season.

Tascosa will challenge Lubbock-Cooper at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lubbock-Cooper knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Tascosa likes a good challenge. As for Amarillo, they will venture away from home to face off against Monterey at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Amarillo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
