Basketball Game Preview: Mountainair Mustangs vs. Quemado Eagles

The Mountainair Mustangs will square off against the Quemado Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Mountainair against Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy as the team secured a 71-32 victory. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Quemado, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 50-43 win over Pine Hill on Tuesday.

Mountainair is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Quemado, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Mountainair was able to grind out a solid victory over Quemado in their previous meeting last Saturday, winning 49-40. Will Mountainair repeat their success, or does Quemado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
