Holmes has gone 8-2 against Perquimans recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Aces will head out to square off against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Holmes has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Perquimans will come in with three straight wins.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Holmes' offense. They lost 9-0 to First Flight on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Holmes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 265th, while First Flight are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Perquimans had just enough and edged out Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech 2-1 on Thursday.

Anna Fisher and Madison Montgomery scored both of the Pirates' goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Perquimans' victory bumped their record up to 6-4-2. As for Holmes, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Holmes beat Perquimans 2-0 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aces since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
