Pendleton County dropped down to 14-16 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Jefferson Cougars, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcat have suffered since April 8th.

Pendleton County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Harper, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Jefferson, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Jefferson's side, they got a big performance out of Liam Healey, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Nayan Dominguez, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Looking ahead, Pendleton County will face off against Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jefferson, they will head out to challenge East Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
