Softball Game Preview: Forestview Jaguars vs. Lincolnton Wolves

The Forestview Jaguars will take on the Lincolnton Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Things were looking good for Forestview after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Cherryville by a score of 8-7. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lily Cabe and Kaitlyn Baker stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cabe went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Baker scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Forestview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Lincolnton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Bunker Hill, falling 11-1.

Forestview now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lincolnton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Forestview skirted past Lincolnton 7-5 in their previous matchup on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forestview since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
