Volleyball Recap: Foothill Falls Short Against Ranked Bishop Gorman

Foothill faced Bishop Gorman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Falcons lost 3-0 to the Gaels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gaels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.

Bryn Neibaur paced Foothill's offense, picking up ten kills. Neibaur got some help from Addison Chase and her 12 assists.

Bishop Gorman was led to victory by Chloe Lopez and Ayanna Watson. Lopez had nine digs and three aces, while Watson hit 68.8% for 12 kills and 11 digs and three aces. Watson has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more kills the last 26 times she's played.

Foothill has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-21 record this season. As for Bishop Gorman, they pushed their record up to 28-8 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Foothill and Bishop Gorman are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Falcons will take on Arbor View at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Gorman, they will square off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
