Soccer Recap: Barron Collier Takes a Loss

Barron Collier entered their game against Estero on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Barron Collier Cougars came up short against the Estero Wildcats, falling 4-0. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Barron Collier's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2-1. As for Estero, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Barron Collier will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Estero, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Estero take on the Canterbury at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Estero has won three straight at home, while Canterbury won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
