            Softball Recap: Polk County Wolverines vs. Brevard Blue Devils        
        
		
        
        
            Polk County hadn't done well against Brevard recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Tuesday. The Wolverines came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of  8-3. The game was the first time the Wolverines have beaten the Blue Devils on their field since May 16, 2015.
 Mia Bradley was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Junie Mitchell, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-5.
 Bradley wasn't the only one making solid contact: Polk County  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 18  hits. The Wolverines are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.

Polk County's win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 8-5. As for Brevard, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
 Looking ahead, Polk County will square off against Hendersonville at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.2  runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brevard, they will face off against Pisgah at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Bears will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
