Softball Recap: Sulligent Takes a Loss

Sulligent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winfield Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-7 defeat two weeks ago.

Sulligent saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Lann, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Sulligent's loss dropped their record down to 18-12-1. As for Winfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 25 of their last 28 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Sulligent nor Winfield have any future games scheduled.
