Basketball Recap: Watertown Comes Up Short

Watertown and Brandon Valley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Watertown had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Brandon Valley Lynx, falling 69-31. The Arrows have struggled against the Lynx recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Brandon Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Kellenberger out in front who posted 14 points and five steals. Kellenberger has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Gracie Salter was another key player, going 7-for-11 to rack up 14 points and seven rebounds.

Watertown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Brandon Valley, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Watertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brandon Valley, they will challenge Pierre T.F. Riggs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Brandon Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
