Basketball Game Preview: Berean Academy Eagles vs. Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors

Berean Academy hasn't had much luck against Tri-City Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Berean Academy Eagles will take on the Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Berean Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took an 82-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Leadership Academy last Thursday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Berean Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jeremiah Armstrong, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Armstrong is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Elijah Morris, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 16 points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Berean Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Tri-City Christian Academy was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Phoenix School of Academic Excellence 90-34. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Tri-City Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.7 points. As for Berean Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Berean Academy took a serious blow against Tri-City Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 72-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tri-City Christian Academy's Fulvio Dos Santos, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 17 rebounds.
