Basketball Game Preview: Cottage Grove Lions vs. Phoenix Pirates

The Cottage Grove Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Phoenix Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Cottage Grove came up short against Baker on Saturday, falling 59-39. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Phoenix ended up a good deal behind North Valley on Saturday and lost 38-24. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Phoenix's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cottage Grove, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-4.

Cottage Grove strolled past Phoenix in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 50-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cottage Grove since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
