Preview: Ansonia Chargers vs. Seymour Wildcats
Ansonia and Seymour are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Ansonia Chargers will be home for the holidays to greet the Seymour Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Ansonia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of Wilby by a score of 64-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Seymour came up short against Wilby on Monday and fell 60-52.
Despite the defeat, Seymour got a solid performance out of Indrit Peraj, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Carrafiello, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Ansonia bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for Seymour, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Ansonia came up short against Seymour when the teams last played back in February, falling 62-58. Can Ansonia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
