Baseball Recap: Port Byron Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Port Byron challenged Mexico on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Tigers, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-1 on Thursday.

Connor Usowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Port Byron and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Mexico, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Byron will host Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mexico, they will take on Cortland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
