Basketball Recap: Daniel Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Danville over Williamsport

If Danville was feeling good fresh off their 64-44 takedown of Milton last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Danville Ironmen took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Williamsport Millionaires on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Ironmen came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Millionaires are ranked 266th).

Danville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Daniel Walker, who went 7 for 14 en route to 17 points and three steals. The game was Walker's third in a row with at least 16 points. Ethan Morrison was another key player, going 7 of 12 to rack up 17 points.

Danville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Williamsport, their record is now 6-12.

Danville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-51 victory against Selinsgrove on the 7th. As for Williamsport, they will venture away from home to square off against Loyalsock Township at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Loyalsock Township is on a five-game streak of home losses, Williamsport a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change.
