Recap: South Paulding Spartans vs. Newnan Cougars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Manchester, the South Paulding Spartans were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Newnan as South Paulding made off with a 58-37 victory. That's another feather in the cap for South Paulding, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading South Paulding to victory were Lindsey Henry and Chloe Vandyke. Henry dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Vandyke almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Vandyke posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Chrissy Warner, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
South Paulding pushed their record up to 9-15 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Newnan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
South Paulding will be playing at home against Alexander at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully South Paulding focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. Newnan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
