Baseball Game Preview: Robertson Cardinals vs. East Mountain Timberwolves

Robertson has gone 7-1 against East Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Robertson Cardinals will take on the East Mountain Timberwolves at 3:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Robertson is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Los Alamos just ended the team's eight-game winning streak dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 27-3 to the Hilltoppers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cardinals have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Robertson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Bonney, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave Bonney a new career-high in stolen bases.

Meanwhile, East Mountain fell victim to Rio Rancho and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 14-0. The Timberwolves just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

East Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Robertson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Robertson came out on top in a nail-biter against East Mountain when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Will Robertson repeat their success, or does East Mountain have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
