Refugio came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They rang in the new year with a 46-39 victory over the Woodsboro Eagles. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 565th, while the Eagles are ranked 1440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Refugio pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Woodsboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 16 of their last 17 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.
