Basketball Recap: Austyn Hopkins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Santa Rosa Academy over Temecula Prep

After flying high against Nuview Bridge last Friday, Santa Rosa Academy came back down to earth. The Santa Rosa Academy Rangers took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Temecula Prep Patriots on Wednesday. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Santa Rosa Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austyn Hopkins, who posted 16 points along with six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cory Moore, who scored 11 points.

Santa Rosa Academy's record now sits at 14-9. As for Temecula Prep, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

Santa Rosa Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-44 win against San Jacinto Valley Academy on the 24th. As for Temecula Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 87-39 victory against Nuview Bridge on the 24th.
