Baseball Game Preview: Red Hook Raiders vs. Wallkill Panthers

Red Hook is 1-9 against Wallkill since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m.

Monday just wasn't the day for Red Hook's offense. They fell 4-0 to Our Lady of Lourdes on Monday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wallkill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Rondout Valley on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Ganders: they've now won six in a row.

Ryan Murphy tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Anthony Daley was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was John Harrington, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Red Hook now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Wallkill, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.

Red Hook skirted past Wallkill 5-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
