Pinnacle is 9-1 against Mountain Ridge since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Pinnacle Pioneers will welcome the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pinnacle is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They fell 69-59 to O'Connor. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Eagles are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge lost to Boulder Creek on the road by a 78-64 margin on Thursday. The Mountain Lions have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Pinnacle will need focus on slowing down Dylan Donovan, one of several Mountain Ridge players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 for 13 en route to 12 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kellen Wilkinson, who posted nine points and three steals.

Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mountain Ridge, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
