Volleyball Game Preview: Pine View Panthers vs. Hurricane Tigers

Pine View is a perfect 3-0 against Hurricane since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Pine View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Lone Peak, who was ranked fifth at the time (Pine View was ranked 17th). Pine View came up short against Lone Peak on Saturday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Pine View saw an underclassman step up: sophomore David Croxall had nine digs and one assist. Those nine digs gave Croxall a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Hurricane came up short against Hunter on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pine View's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Hurricane, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Pine View took their victory against Hurricane in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Does Pine View have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hurricane turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
